Ahh Mini Moni … the idol group that took my wota cherry many moons ago.
Tsunku has decided it’s time to revive the defunct (and awesome) mini girl group … one could interpret this move as lack of ideas and trying to relive the ‘good old days’.
Personally I think the group has the potential to be a solid fixture in the unit line up … maybe no way near the awesomeness of Buono! but who knows …
Tsunku has confirmed that it will be a 4 girl line up, the first girl chosen is the deliciously delectable H!P golden girl Fukuda Kanon which I think is a great choice as she has the cutesy appeal and also looks a little bit like Kago Aibon back when she wasn’t a chain smoking/gravure/washed out post idol.
That’s all we pretty much know about it so far, anything else is pure speculation … so lets get speculating:

The main concept of Mini Moni was that it contained girls who were 4 ft 11 in height or shorter, so far Tsunku hasn’t mentioned this will be a factor for the new line up, personally I hope they ditch this idea because it limits the idols that could feature.

Will this group be mostly aimed towards a younger audience? hard to say but the second Mini moni album (Minimoni Songs 2) did feature quite a few more mature grown up songs (kind of) so I think it would be nice if the new group kept with the same mix of fun genki/ cool style songs.
I’m 100% certain that the inevitable new album will contain a fair few covers of old songs (most likely Jankenpyon! and Lucky Cha Cha Cha!).

The biggest thing to wonder about the new group is who are the other 3 members? here’s my suggestions for Tsunku (because he totally reads my blog) :

Noto Arisa – current leader of the Hello pro Eggs and former member of the now defunct (thank god) Ongaku Gata’s.
Even though she looks about 9 years old she is infact around 21, I’ve always liked Noto because of her cute pixie like features and awesome hair styles.
Not only has she got leadership ‘experience’ she has the ability to look sweet and innocent and BADASS.

Nakajima Saki – Current C-ute lover of balloons and member of Guardians 4.
If she was placed into the new unit it would mean that she is active in 3 groups which might sound a little excessive, yet lets not forget that Guardians 4 will probably only last 2 singles before they evolve into a new unit/line up.
Naki would be a great choice for this unit due to her very cutie pie image and her very nasal squeaky voice.

Lin Lin – Considering that she’s only active in Morning Musume this unit would be a great opportunity for her to develop herself further and step out from under the shadow of Jun Jun.
Lin Lin has an amazing voice with great range so maybe the childish style of Mini Moni is a little below her … regardless I think she has such an adorable happy face it would be a shame not to see her flourish into new areas.

Hagiwara Mai – Mai did feature in the Mini Moni ja Movie: Okashi na Daibōken and also had a part in the Mini Moni PV for Genki Jirushi no Ōmori Song so I think it would be really cool for Mai to progress her idol career into familiar territory.
Hopefully height wont play a factor in being recruited for the unit as for the past year Mai has been going through hyper puberty and will no doubt be taller than tranny Erika one day soon.

Sayaka Kitahara – I don’t really have any noble reasons why I want her in the group, I just want more opportunity’s to see her fantastic abs … feast!

If by some amazing reason that any of these girls are selected for the new unit I expect a paycheck from the UFA and the freedom to design Sayaka’s skimpy costume.

Takahashi Ai’s 10th photobook is almost upon us and the previews are streaming in.

How glorious are these photos? I’ll be buying this for sure.

When I was making the Butt shot photobook I was cruising through all of Ai’s previous photo books and it’s interesting to see that there are TONS of bikini action, she must clearly love showing her flesh, lucky us eh?

Unless you’ve been in a coma for the past week you will no doubt be aware of the Morning Musume OPV competition.
When I first read about it I wasn’t really that interested in it … but after a few beers my mind started ticking over with the genius of this competition.
I’m 100% sure that Tsunku reads various message boards and comes across the term ‘this PV looks cheap!’ all the time, so it would seem that Tsunku has thrown the ball in ‘our’ court, maybe the UFA ran out of ideas or funding? … obviously I’m joking, this contest is pretty frickin awesome.
There’s quite alot of rules in regards to the freedom of what you can do, but with the amount of green screen videos they provide you really are only limited by your imagination (and technical ability of course).
There has been a healthy amount of OPV’s uploaded so far (29 as of now) and as the deadline approach’s this number will no doubt spike quite considerably.
Some of the videos uploaded are great, some are weak … and some are just amazingly bizarre.
I will defiantly be entering this, I’m in the process of toying with concepts and editing tricks to come up with something hopefully original … yet with this being a ‘world-scale contest’ this proves to be extremely challenging.
Will you be submitting an OPV? are you put off by the amount of submission this will no doubt get?
Personally I know that I have zero chance of coming even close to a ‘top 10′ winners list … yet I’m joining this to be part of Morning Musume history (plus this will show the UFA how much interest there is for H!P outside of Asia.
I’ll probably submit my video right near the end to prevent people using my ideas and concepts, I’m confident ALOT of people will be doing this, so in the last few days of the contest expect TONS of OPV submissions.

In other news Guardians 4 have finally released the PV to ‘Omakase! Guardian’.
I was intending on doing a full blog about this video yet there isn’t really that much to say about it.
I’m still kind of unsure how I feel about this new unit, Although I’m a huge fan of Risako/Yurina and Naki I somehow feel this unit is mismatched and not really suited for a cutesy anime group.
The track for ‘Omakase! Guardian’ is actually really trippy and addictive, I would totally dance to this if drunk.
The PV is (predictably) cheap and tacky looking with some Shugo Chara anime thrown in for good measure, the costumes are quite delicious, its a shame that Aika’s hair looks terrible (admit it).

at 1:02 into the video the camera jumps from each girl holding a yellow board, for some strange reason the camera avoids Aika’s face and does an quick shoddy edit to Yurina’s board … I wonder why? if you look at the video you’ll see what I mean … it looks really quite suspicious, the only reason I can think why this would happen is if the camera man didn’t like filming Aika’s face

Answer : to view the beautiful scenery and lovely photographs of girls.

Real answer: To look at sexy idols in various states of undress.
