Most of the books I read tend to be non fiction which means I subject myself to some deeply moving and incredibly depressing issues: war, murder, religious violence, imperialism and death.
So I thought I would take a break and read some fiction with the aim of lifting my spirits and hopefully alter my emotional outlook on life.
Norwegian Wood was written back in 1987 by Haruki Murakami who is considered to be one of the “world’s greatest living novelists”.
I’ve had this book on my shelf for over a month now because I was reading 3 other books which I wanted to finish before starting anymore.
From the start I was pretty much absorbed right into the story which focuses on the protagonist and narrator ‘Toru Watanabe’ and his life of love and loss.
I would love nothing more than to talk endlessly about the beauty of this book and its impact upon certain moral concepts, but I’ll refrain and highly suggest that you seek out this book and hopefully get as much out of it as I did.
Last year I read another book by Haruki Murakami called Underground which is non fiction and is a series of interviews with survivors of the Tokyo gas attacks by the cult Aum Shinrikyo, again this is another book I highly recommend due to its great insight into morality and the ‘Japanese’ psyche.
Yesterday I went to the local book store and picked up another novel by Haruki Murakami entitled ‘Kafka on the Shore’ which appears to be quite challenging mentally yet I really am looking forward to this.
Have you read Norwegian Wood? or have you read any novels by Haruki Murakami? if so which ones would you recommend?
like I said, I hope everyone can enjoy this author as much as I do.
Before full confirmation there were rumors flying around about it being canceled, the Japan expo website was down most of the day and the ticket sellers site claimed to be ’sold out’.
Then they sent out an email:
Dear Customer,
Unfortunately we have to inform you that Stockholm Japan Expo 2009 is cancelled.
There are several reasons for this, the financial change in world economy, severe competition from other festivals/concerts as well as poor ticket sale.
This means you will get your ticket purchase back by www.ticnet.se. More info about this will be announced on our website (www.japanexpo.se) next week.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused and hope that Stockholm Japan Expo will be feasible in the near future.
With sincere apologies,
SJX-Crew
Now we know the truth its time for damage control.
Obviously I’m 100% pissed off, not just for the fact of not seeing buono! but for all the planning and hoops I had to jump through to make it all a reality,
Not only would of this been a golden opportunity to see a H!P gig it would of been a great time to meet up with other wotas and get drunk with them.
At the moment I still have the option of going to Sweden since I have already paid my flight ticket, but is it really worth going all that way not to see Buono?
Like most of my plans and schemes there’s always a plan B and C, but I think I’m gonna have a bloody good drink before I decide what my next step is.
If anyone is super pissed about this (like me) then please go send an email to info@newnippon.net demading that Buono! still play in Sweden.
I really don’t think I’ve seen a single release with so much positive reception before, skimming through various message boards almost 99.9% of people absolutely love everything about it, the remaining 00.1 % are probably trolls or mentally retarded.
I never thought that Buono! could ever do better than ‘Rotara Rotara‘ in regards to its overall awesomeness, yet it would seem they have set the bar pretty high, can Berryz/C-ute/M-M keep up?
I really cant recall of any H!P track that contains such a fast and genki rhythm, Gyaruru’s ‘Onna No Ultra ‘ comes close to the speed and bounce yet not close enough (plus Gyaruru was on TNX).
Now lets all enjoy some delicious pic spam:
The video starts with a rather sinister looking pervert hunched over a monitor (much like me right now)
the camera is fixed upon a box within a glass case, the security guards look like Kim Jong-il
It’s really good to see an actual location on the PV, I grow quite weary of cheap and nasty green screen
The girls appear out of thin air and instantly start working it to the techno beats, which remind me very much of Mortal Kombat for some reason
each girl gets an individual opening shot, Momoko worryingly climbs out of a little chest (how long was she in there?)
Airi just steps through a door, which isn’t very exciting at all, it would of been better if she fell through the roof or wiggled through an air vent
but since she looks so adorable this small issue can be overlooked
Miyabi is looking quite naughty
her new hairstyle is really quite charming, it seems to emphasize her glorious chin
I really like the way the camera pans following the girls performing their lines
when one girl sings her lines the other two girls remain motionless in a sexy type pose (sexy to me at least)
Miyabi’s hair is just brilliant … apart from those hideous colored feathers
another evil pervert shot, you can almost imagine him saying ”Mmmm girls”
when I first saw this shot I was like ‘oh shit Momo has a gun!!!!’
Momo looks quite petrified, how cool would it be if Buono had a Mission impossible style TV drama?
her slightly delayed reaction to the gun going off is just pure love
Airi puts on her stylish agent specs
which enable her to navigate through the laser grid
Airi pit
I like this pose very much
this also
there’s a dark cinematic quality to these parts of the PV, it’s good to see the budget has been cranked up a little
Airi shuffles along the floor, can anyone remember the film ‘entrapment’ where Cathrine Zeta Jones did a similar thing yet with much more butt action
Momo’s facial expressions are just a constant joy
The pervert says something into the microphone .. I’m just guessing
I really really really want a pair of those
I’m not sure what Miyabi’s earring says but knowing her its probably ‘fellatio’ or something
seriously these dance moves could be done in a strip club … here’s an example …
I should be in charge of PV’s … they would be glorious
AHEM AIRI!!!
need I say anything? 0_O
pout <3
do I even need to add the poles? Miyabi is destined for greater things
Miyabi sandwich
this is probably the most violent and sexy Buono PV ever
the girls reach their objective
which is …
a really shoddy looking cake (I’m sure they could of done better than this???)
Momo whips out her blade, she looks insane as hell, Airi looks scared shitless
all 3 girls are clearly sadistic
is it just me or does anyone else find this mildly arousing?
OM NOM NOM NOM NOM
So as you can tell I really really enjoyed the PV and music, nothing beats a slice of fast and hard power pop, I’ll be really stunned if they can do better than this in the future, this is by far the best Buono single to date.
I’m a little late in posting my rankings, this is because I wanted to actually take my time to understand how and why I feel about certain idols before I just click away.
When clicking through the flash menu it made me think of a meat market, I’ll have you, you aaaaand you.
I’ve decided to do things a little different, the first list is my ‘favorite idols’ which was really quite hard to do (I’ll save you the babble of why I chose certain girls over others … it would make dull reading) so anyway here it is …
ok now this is where it gets interesting, the next list is the exact order of which girl I would cuddle on the couch with … and when I say ‘cuddle’ I mean ‘make sweet sweet love to’ …
DONT JUDGE ME!!!
Whats that!? something about age!? according to the British moral police force I’m ‘almost’ in the clear … although if I have to serve jail time for Risako its time well spent.
I would like to see other people do a ‘cuddle’ list also … just so I don’t feel like such a pervert… (I’m quite used to how it feels) ._.
DO IT FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!!
oh and thanks Paul for making such an awesome flash program.
The honest Wota’s to do a ‘cuddle’ list so far are …
It’s no surprise to anyone that I’m a HUGE Maasa Sudo fan, this past month she has impressed me so much that she has now over taken Chinami to my number 1 berryz girl.
Today Hello online member The Incredible He-Hulk announced the winners for the ‘The Sudou Maasa First Annual Great and Powerful Sudou Maasa Photobook Giveaway Contest!!!’.
I managed to scoop third position which means I’ve won a copy of her delicious photobook, so I’m really quite thankful for all the votes I got!.
By sheer coincidence I also finished a project I was working on today, I haven’t made an OPV in a while so I thought I’d make one dedicated to the Epic Maasa Sudo of course!
I made the video using iMovie which is a fairly good editing program, the music used on the video is called ‘O fortuna’ From Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
I hope you enjoy it!
